Educare -Educare is an effort to improve the early learning experiences of low-income children from birth to five years of age. Since these children are not yet attending school, the goal for Educare is that more children enter Kindergarten “ready to learn”.
Services Include:
- Monthly on-site technical/educational visits that are individualized to improve or enhance the quality of child care.
- Community Early Care and Education Resource Center, a lending library of developmental toys, games, books, prop boxes (theme boxes), and teacher resources. Located at the YWCA, 304 N. 8th, St. Joseph.
- Monthly newsletter that includes tips & ideas that demonstrate ways to incorporate developmentally appropriate practice into a childcare setting.
- Professional development opportunities touching on one or more of the Missouri Core Competencies.
- Support groups to share “what works”, with other home providers.
